The multichannel Gauss-Seidel fast affine projection algorithm for active noise control

چکیده
It is well known that fast affine projection algorithms can produce a good trade-off between convergence speed and computational complexity. Recently, a multichannel fast affine projection algorithm was introduced for active noise control, using a sliding window recursive leastsquares algorithm inside the affine projection algorithm. It was reported that not only can this algorithm provide the expected tradeoff between convergence performance and computational complexity, it can also provide the best convergence performance (even over more complex recursive least-squares algorithms) when non-ideal noisy acoustic plant models are used in the adaptive noise control system. In this paper, we propose a multichannel fast affine projection algorithm for active noise control systems, with a lower complexity and the potential for a better numerical stability than the previously published algorithm. The new algorithm is based on the GaussSeidel Fast Affine Projection algorithm. The computational complexity of the new algorithm is evaluated, and it is shown through simulations that the new algorithm provides the same good performance as the previously published algorithm.

The Gauss–Seidel fast affine projection algorithm for multichannel active noise control and sound reproduction systems
In the field of adaptive filtering, the fast implementations of affine projection algorithms are known to provide a good tradeoff between convergence speed and computational complexity. Such algorithms have recently been published for multichannel active noise control systems. Previous work reported that these algorithms can outperform more complex recursive least-squares algorithms when noisy ...
متن کاملAn Efficient Algorithm for Active Noise Control
Active noise control (ANC) systems have been increasingly researched and developed [1]. The use of the modified filtered-x structure for ANC using finite impulse response (FIR) adaptive filtering [2] will be assumed in the rest of this paper (Fig. 1). The multichannel versions of the filtered-x least-mean-square (FX-LMS) and the modified FX-LMS (MFX-LMS) algorithms are the benchmarks to which m...
متن کاملNonlinear Active Noise Control Using Volterra Filtering with a Variable Step-size Gs-pap Algorithm
In this paper, a nonlinear active noise control (ANC) is proposed using adaptive Volterra filtering with a variable step-size Gauss-Seidel pseudo affine projection (VSSGSPAP) algorithm. In particular, it requires a lower computational burden than the VSS affine projection (VSSAP) algorithm, and provides an improved convergence as the VSSAP algorithm does. Simulation results show that the propos...
متن کاملThe Gauss-seidel Fast Affine Projection Algorithm
In this paper we propose a new stable Fast Affine Projection algorithm based on Gauss -Seidel iterations (GSFAP). We investigate its implementation using the logarithmic number system (LNS) and compare it with other two FAP algorithms. A method to simplify its implementation is also proposed. We show that the 32-bit or 20-bit LNS implementation of the GSFAP algorithm is superior to those of oth...
متن کاملThe Variable Step-Size Gauss-Seidel Pseudo Affine Projection Algorithm
In this paper, a new pseudo affine projection (AP) algorithm based on Gauss-Seidel (GS) iterations is proposed for acoustic echo cancellation (AEC). It is shown that the algorithm is robust against near-end signal variations (including double-talk). Keywords—pseudo affine projection algorithm, acoustic echo cancellation, double-talk.
